In Chinese folk religions, Yue Lao serves as a matchmaker. With a red thread, Yue Lao ties up a man and a woman in a relationship

Ice Sugar & Longan
According to the legend, Yue Lao loves sweets. Hence, people normally prepares Ice sugar, black sugar or Longan when visiting Yue Lao. Some says that, after having some sweets, Yue Lao may put in better words for you when meeting your mate.
Additionally, in Chinese, Longan represents good luck. Hence, after the praying, have a cup of longan tea can bring you good luck!

Joss Paper & Incense
Joss paper is given to both the deceased and higher gods such as the Jade Emperor. When praying to Yue Lao, joss paper serves as a tribute along with the incense. After purchasing the joss paper, leave it on a table infant of the main entrance. The temple will burn the joss paper for you.

Coin
In Chinese, the sound of the word lead also means link, and the word coin in Taiwanese sounds similar to serendipity. Hence, putting the two words together can make Yue Lao "link serendipity" for you.
